Scientists and Innovators in Schools
May 12th 2009
The gym at Fort Rupert Elementary School was transformed into a huge science laboratory on Tuesday, May 12th by Kelli Fawkes and Dave Berry from the University of Victoria as part of the Scientists and Innovators in the Schools program supported by the Ministry of Education and Science World. All students donned lab coats and safety glasses for the day as they took part in experiments called ‘Slime’, ‘Household Powder’ and ‘Saliva’. Dave Berry said ‘We believe that the best way to show what we do in our science is to have students work in a ‘laboratory’” Students clearly thought the science was cool!
